Global commodities trading firm Trafigura Group Pte Ltd. has completed the issuance of a USD 500 million senior Reg S bond with a five-year maturity structure, according to an official statement published by the company. Issued under Trafigura's established Euro Medium Term Note programme, the debt offering was launched following an extensive investor roadshow conducted by company executives across markets in Europe and Asia. The capital raised from the bond placement is designated for general corporate purposes, serving to lengthen the group's overall debt maturity profile while continuing to diversify its long-term financing arrangements.
The senior bond achieved a final pricing of 5.625 percent, representing a 20 basis point tightening from initial yield guidance. According to details released in the company announcement, the pricing tightening was driven by strong demand from institutional investors, resulting in a well-diversified order book distributed across continental Europe, the United Kingdom, and Asia. Trafigura highlighted that market participants were principally attracted by the company's diversified business operations, strong balance sheet foundation, and record of consistent earnings performance.
According to a statement from Stephan Jansma, Chief Financial Officer of Trafigura, the transaction reinforces the group's ongoing commitment to public debt capital markets, building directly on its successful return to the bond market in 2025. Jansma observed that securing pricing at the tightest spread to date demonstrates investor confidence in Trafigura's implicit investment grade standing and highlights the critical role the company plays in maintaining global commodity supply chains during periods of market volatility, while confirming plans to access fixed income markets regularly in the future.
In terms of transaction management, JP Morgan and Standard Chartered Bank acted as Global Coordinators for the USD 500 million issuance. Financial institutions Credit Agricole CIB, ING, and Société Générale served as Active Joint Lead Managers and Bookrunners for the bond sale. Trafigura, which operates in over 150 countries with approximately 14,500 employees, maintains a portfolio of industrial assets including multi-metals producer Nyrstar, fuel storage and distributor Puma Energy, fuel supplier Greenergy, and the Impala Terminals joint venture.
