GTT Secures Tank Design Order for Four ADNOC L&S LNG Carriers

French engineering firm Gaztransport & Technigaz, commonly known as GTT, has been awarded a design contract for cryogenic storage tanks intended for four newbuild liquefied natural gas carriers. According to reporting by Offshore Energy, the order was received from China-based Jiangnan shipyard, which is constructing the vessels on behalf of United Arab Emirates-based shipowner ADNOC Logistics and Services.

Under the scope of the agreement, GTT will supply the design for the tanks on all four vessels. Each carrier in the series will feature a total cargo capacity of 175,000 cubic meters. The storage systems will incorporate GTT's proprietary Mark III Flex membrane containment technology.

All four liquefied natural gas carriers are scheduled for delivery during the first half of 2029. ADNOC Logistics and Services, which serves as the maritime logistics and shipping arm of the state-owned ADNOC Group, will take delivery of the newbuilds upon completion by the Chinese shipbuilder.

The tank design order follows another recent commercial arrangement for the French containment specialist. As reported by Offshore Energy, GTT Marine—a specialized division of GTT—was contracted more than a month prior to deploy integrated vessel performance solutions across a fleet of gas carriers operating under charter for Malaysian energy firm Petronas.
